New York Facial Plastic Surgeon Doctor James C Marotta forecasts that 2018 is “All about stimulating our own cells to naturally reverse the signs of aging” (newbeauty, 2018).

Non-surgical procedures are taking over as the preferred way to lift, tighten, restore, correct and rejuvenate the face and body in 2018. This is due to the evolving sophistication and advancements in the delivery of treatments and technologies that include collagen Induction therapy, laser, radiofrequency, ultrasound and cosmetic injectables.

The Trending List includes:

1. Using our bodies own natural resources to restore, enhance and improve skin health at a cellular level - To reboot collagen formation, stimulate cellular growth and improve hair & scalp health (trauma, hair loss and male pattern baldness).

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Growth factors, Fat Transfer, Micro Filler Injections.

2. Preventative Aging for clients in their 20’s and early 30’s. There has been a steady rise in the trend of young adults taking a proactive approach in preventative aging strategies that include using cosmeceutical grade skin care and a prescribed treatment plan involving a neurotoxin (anti-wrinkle/muscle relaxant) to avert fine lines ever forming on the face.

Treating the concern before it arises.

3. Face and Body Treatments (chin, arms, legs, abdomen) targeting stubborn areas of fat that no amount of diet and exercise can remove. There are injectable treatments (Mesotherapy) that contain natural enzymes, homeopathic agents and vitamins that assist in breaking down and destroying fat cells through the process of lipolysis. A course of treatments is recommended to achieve desired results.

4. Non-surgical nose jobs using dermal filler skillfully to achieve subtle results by softening the nose shape, instead of the traditional rhinoplasty. It will not make the nose smaller but is a great way to correct imperfections and camouflage other concern areas.

I personally love prescribing PRP- Platelet Rich Plasma “Liquid Gold” to my clients, by itself is an outstanding treatment or in conjunction with other modalities such as skin needling and laser or pre/post surgery to prepare the skin for optimum recovery and ensure maximum treatment outcome. I describe PRP as a fertiliser for the skin- rich in platelets and growth factors that ultimately stimulate angiogenesis and collagenesis. The perfect treatment for clients not wanting to jump into dermal fillers or undergo more invasive procedures but want results from a more natural approach to achieve better skin health
